Why should I enroll in this program? Tattooing truly is a dream job. You will use your creativity daily while helping others to express themselves. Upon completion of this course you will be confident and able to perform efficient, creative tattoos. Mastery takes time and graduates will need to continue to learn to become proficient experienced tattoo artists.
Where are you located? The Tattoo Learning Center has 3 locations: Schenectady, New York, San Diego, California and Ft. Myers, Florida.
Do you offer financial aid? No, but The Tattoo Learning Center qualifies for and accepts various vocational/rehabilitation program grants. YOU must get this grant on your own through your local county vocational/rehab office. We also accept grants from the Military Spouse program (MyCaa).
How many students are in the class? We have very small classes to allow you individualized guidance. We take up to 6 students per session in our NY facility and up to 3 students per session in California and Florida.
How long does the program last? The program lasts for 2 weeks. We meet Monday through Friday, school hours are 9am-5pm.
How many tattoos will I do while there? Most of our students generally get about 2-3 done a day. That translates to approximately 18-20 tattoos for your portfolio.
What is the cost of the program? The cost of the 2 week tattoo fundamentals program is $4800 at all our school locations. Free lodging with tuition.
Do I need any equipment? No, during the school sessions you will be using all our provided tattoo machines and supplies. You do not need to bring anything to school. We use several different tattoo machines and power sources, etc. so you will be comfortable with different types of equipment. You will be taking home a brand new, professional tattoo machine, included with every enrollment.
Do you provide lodging? Yes, we offer FREE lodging for 2 weeks at all of our locations.
Do I need to be an artist? You will learn many things such as shading and color contrasting, but you need to have a good basic hand-eye coordination and a steady hand. Your level of proficiency is what will set you apart from the "crowd".
Will I have a portfolio when I graduate? When you graduate from The Tattoo Learning Center you will leave with a DVD which will have digital images of all the tattoos you completed while here to start your portfolio.
Will I be licensed when I graduate? Although you will be monitored and regulated while at our various school locations, you will still need to re-apply for licensing in the county or state in which you plan to work. Tattoo Licenses do NOT transfer from one place to another. Remember to call your local health department for information.

Do you offer any advanced classes? Yes, we offer a very advanced portrait class with the very best color portrait artist. We have held this class for several years and our advanced students love it. Look for intermediate and specialty classes to be added in the future.
What do you say about the haters and shops saying they won't hire TLC graduates? At the Tattoo Learning Center we are very proud to be creating a tattoo revolution! Modern education has found it's way here and we are the very best tattoo educators out there. As far as shops saying they won't hire tattoo school graduates, my reply: "You already have, you just don't know it." :) |
